Invoices, deposits, credits and reminders

Billing all or part of a job, credit notes, recurring invoices and reminders.

Creating invoices

  • Create an invoice from an approved quote or a job, and everything is copied over, including any deposit.
  • Bill part of a quote now (for example 40%) and the rest later. Gettled tracks how much is billed.
  • Or start a blank invoice from Invoices → New invoice.

After sending

  • Reminders go out automatically before and after the due date. Choose when in Settings → Invoices, or per invoice.
  • Record payments by cash, cheque, e-transfer or bank. Clients get a receipt with a PDF.
  • Issue a credit note to take an amount off what's owed (a discount, work not done). It shows on the client's invoice.
  • Make an invoice repeat (weekly to yearly). New invoices are made and sent for you, and can charge a saved card.

To give back money a client already paid online, use Refund on the payment instead of a credit note.
