Terms of Service
For businesses that sign up for Gettled.
Last updated October 24, 2026
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between Gettled ("Gettled", "we", "us") and the business or person who creates a Gettled account ("you"). They cover your use of the Gettled app, website and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Gettled for a business, you confirm you can accept these Terms for it.
2. What Gettled does
Gettled helps service businesses quote, schedule, do and invoice their work, and get paid. It lets you keep client records, send quotes and agreements that clients approve and sign online, book visits, track work, send invoices and reminders, and take online payments through Stripe.
Gettled is a tool. You decide what you sell, what you charge, what your terms with your clients say, and how you do the work. We aren't a party to your agreements with your clients.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and give accurate information.
- Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account, including what people you invite do.
- Owners and admins can invite teammates and choose their roles. You're responsible for removing access when someone leaves.
- Tell us at contact@gettled.com if you think your account has been used without permission.
4. Plans, trial and billing
- Gettled is offered on paid plans (currently Solo, Team and Business), billed monthly or yearly. Prices are shown in CAD for businesses in Canada and USD everywhere else, plus any applicable taxes.
- New businesses get a 30-day free trial. A payment card is required to start it, and your first charge is at the end of the trial unless you cancel before then.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. Billing is handled by Stripe.
- You can change plans at any time; the difference is prorated.
- You can cancel at any time in Settings → Billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal: you keep full access until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't give refunds or credits for partial periods, except where the law requires it.
- If a payment fails or your subscription ends, your account becomes read-only: you can see and export your data, but can't create or send new work until you subscribe again.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. Changes apply from your next renewal after the notice period.
5. Online payments from your clients
- To take payments online, you connect your own Stripe account. Payments go to your Stripe account, and your use of Stripe is also governed by Stripe's terms, including the Stripe Connected Account Agreement.
- Gettled charges a platform fee of 0.5% of each online payment, in addition to Stripe's own fees. Fees are deducted from the payment. If you refund a payment in full through Gettled, Gettled's fee for it is returned.
- You're the seller. You're responsible for your prices, taxes, refunds, disputes and chargebacks with your clients, and for following the laws that apply to your business.
- Bank debits (US ACH and Canadian pre-authorized debit) take several business days to clear and can be reversed by the client's bank.
6. Your content and your clients' information
You own the content you put into Gettled: your client records, quotes, agreements, invoices, photos, notes and other data ("Your Content"). You give us permission to host, copy, process and display Your Content only as needed to provide and improve the Service, to keep it secure, and as the law requires.
When you add information about your clients and your team, you're responsible for having the right to do so, for telling them how you use it, and for getting any consent the law requires. For that information, Gettled acts as your service provider under our Data Processing Addendum, which forms part of these Terms.
7. Templates and e-signatures
Gettled includes ready-made agreement templates (such as One-time job, Recurring maintenance, Workmanship guarantee and Retainer). They're general starting points, not legal advice. Check them against the laws where you work, and get your own advice if you need it.
Clients approve quotes and accept agreements by signing electronically. Gettled records the signature, the signer's name, the time, their IP address and browser type, and a fingerprint (hash) of what they signed, as described in our E-Signature Consent. Whether an electronic signature is right for a particular agreement is your decision.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use Gettled to:
- break the law, or help anyone else break it;
- send spam or messages people haven't agreed to receive;
- upload anything you don't have the right to use, or that's harmful, deceptive or abusive;
- try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, test or break our security, or overload the Service;
- copy, resell or build a competing product from the Service.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep Gettled running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. If we make a change that significantly reduces what your plan includes, we'll tell you in advance.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using Gettled at any time. To have your account and data deleted, email contact@gettled.com. We may suspend or end your account if you break these Terms, don't pay, or if we have to by law; where reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.
11. Disclaimers and limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and Gettled isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data.
To the extent the law allows, Gettled's total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid Gettled in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Indemnity
You'll cover Gettled for claims and costs that arise from Your Content, your work for your clients, your dealings with them, or your breaking these Terms or the law.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. Using Gettled after that means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes are handled by the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
